Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, complete immigration and meet your driver for transfer to the city centre. Check in to your hotel after 2:00 pm. Then proceed to the Ho Chi Minh Complex β Ba Dinh Square, the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Monday & Friday afternoons; viewable from outside), the Presidential Palace (exterior view), President's Fishpond, House On Stilts, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda.
Next, stop at Hoan Kiem Lake for a walking tour of the Hanoi Old Quarter β Hanoi Opera House, Hang Gai, Hang Dao, Hang Ngang and hundreds of specialty shops selling silk, lacquerware, embroidered linens, bamboo and more. Spend your evening exploring Ta Hien Street's lively bars and night life at your leisure.
Note: Long trousers required to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Mausoleum is closed Monday and Friday afternoons β exterior viewable on those days.
After breakfast, drive along green fields and villages to Hoa Lu β Vietnam's ancient capital in the 11th century. Visit the temples of the Dinh & Le dynasties, surrounded by rice paddies and fresh air. Then board a small traditional boat and glide through Tam Coc's long canal past rice fields and mountains, drifting through three caves β Hang Ca, Hang 2, and Hang 3 β and witnessing local fishing life and the famous limestone karst formations up close. Return to Ha Noi in the late afternoon.
Breakfast at hotel. At 7:30 am, your driver transfers you to Tuan Chau Harbor (a brief rest stop en route). Board a 2-day sleeper boat for a 5β6 hour cruise through Ha Long Bay's iconic limestone islets. Enjoy lunch on board while drifting past islands shaped by the imagination of locals. Visit Surprising Cave with its extraordinary stalagmites and stalactites. Head to Titop Island to climb Titop Peak for a breathtaking panoramic view of the bay, then kayak or take a bamboo boat through Luon Cave to discover a beautiful hidden lagoon. Enjoy the sunset on deck with tea and cakes before returning to Hanoi by 6:00β6:30 pm.
Note: Bring swimwear, sunglasses, and insect repellent. Swimming at Titop Island is seasonal. Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to weather and operational conditions.
Breakfast at hotel, then check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, transfer to the city centre and check in after 2:00 pm. Begin your half-day city tour: visit the Reunification Palace (Independence Palace) designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu; the striking Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon with its red-brick neo-Romanesque faΓ§ade; and the Old Post Office β a stunning French Colonial building with Roman arches and gilded glass windows. Head to Ben Thanh Market for shopping. In the evening, stroll Nguyen Hue Walking Street and experience the nightlife of Bui Vien Street at your leisure.
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels β a 200 km network of underground passages that played a vital role during the war and became a self-sustaining underground city. Explore trap doors, living quarters, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centres that allowed thousands to live and fight beneath the ground. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for free time to explore at your leisure.
Breakfast at hotel. Head out for a full-day Mekong Delta tour. Cruise the Tien River to admire four islands β Long, Lan, Qui, and Phung β and the daily life of floating fish farming villages. On Thoi Son Island, visit orchards (pomelo, jackfruit), a honey bee farm, and enjoy lemon honey tea and specialty jams. Ride a tram through village roads, taking in the island way of life. Visit an eco-tourism site, enjoy fresh fruits in the garden, and listen to Southern folk music. Row through a water coconut canal by traditional boat and visit a coconut candy factory before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your flight home, carrying with you memories of ancient temples, emerald bays, bustling markets, and the warmth of Vietnam.
